Dr. Nix has studied extensively to recognize eye and general health problems as they reveal themselves in the early stages. Early diagnosis and treatment greatly increase the likelihood of better outcomes with proper management.

Dr. Nix will take the time explain the results of your eye examination and treatment plan in simple everyday language. Your questions will be encouraged and answered in detail. With the Optos wide-field retinal photos taken at every eye examination, and other visual aids you will see and hear about your eyes in a whole new way.
About Dr. Philip Nix, O.D.
Dr. Philip Nix obtained his Doctor of Optometry Degree from the Indiana University School of Optometry in 1980. Since then, Dr. Nix has been serving Indiana as an award winning Optometrist. In 2001 and again in 2016, he was recognized as the Walmart Regional Doctor of the Year. Dr. Nix also received the Above and Beyond Award from Walmart for diagnosing a brain tumor in an 8-year-old boy, who subsequently underwent surgery returning him to full health.
Dr. Nix is the past president of the East Central Optometric Society of the Indiana Optometric Association and a winner of the Kiss-a-Pig contest, the largest fundraiser for the American Diabetes Association.
When not working, Dr. Nix enjoys spending time swimming, sailing, windsurfing, golfing and bowling. He is also an advocate for the Knights of Columbus.
